Going to Africa

UPDATED INFORMATION:

Remaining deadlines:

May 1st – 100%

963 Missions has joined with Mocha Club to organize 6-8 trips from May through August 2008 to countries throughout Africa .  The trips will allow Mocha Club members, friends, and contacts to see and experience firsthand how $7 a month truly makes a difference while having a chance to serve the people of Africa. Mocha Club is an online community where people are signing up to give $7 a month – the cost of 2 mochas – to help support a project in Africa.

The trips will each be 10-12 days long and will center on the work of African Leadership (Mocha Club's parent organization), a Christian Education and Development organization offering Biblical training for church leaders and meeting physical needs of the poor in Africa. Team members will observe and serve alongside the long-term workers with the intention of furthering the work that is already being undertaken. Much of this ministry will take place in the orphanages that Mocha Club supports in Africa.

Teams are being assembled NOW! Once a team reaches our target number of 15-18 team members, that team and location will be closed to new applicants, so don't wait to turn in your application!

Once teams are formed, the team leader will organize regular bi-weekly phone meetings to assist in the preparation process. Such things as cultural sensitivity, fundraising strategies, and logistical preparation will be discussed during this time.

All trips will be approximately $3,000-$3,500 in total cost. You can get specific cost information under the ‘Locations and Details' tab.

The trips are open to anyone who is interested, but Mocha Club members will receive priority, if necessary, in team placements.
